7th Annual Appalachian Mountain Photography Competition Winners Announced

(Boone, NC) – Organizers of the Appalachian Mountain Photography Competition today announced the winners of the 7th annual competition. Tommy Penick and his image Pushing the Christmas Tree Bailer, entered in the Culture Category, took top honors receiving the designation of Best in Show. Tommy will take home a cash award of $1000 furnished through competition proceeds.

Scott Hotaling‘s photo, Evolution River, is the public’s pick in this year’s People’s Choice Award. Hotaling will receive $350 in prize money furnished by Footsloggers Outdoor and Travel Outfitters. 2010 marked the largest participation to date in the People’s Choice Award with 2,600 total votes cast.

Category Winners acknowledge the top image in each of the seven competition categories. Winners of the Blue Ridge Parkway categories will receive cash awards furnished by the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation. The remaining category winners receive Mast General Store prize packages.
