"It is a beautiful book with gorgeous color pictures. Text boxes detailing a particular subject such as rhododendrons or Daniel Boone are sprinkled throughout. But why did they have to use black text on a dark purple background for these boxes? They are so difficult to read. Except for that shortcoming, this book is meant to be used, not to be left on the bookshelf. I take my copy wherever I think I am going to be on the Parkway. As for the answers to the questions above? Check pages 120, 129 and 108, respectively."

I couldn't agree more...

I Missed My Morning Reminder To Dream The NC Mountain Dream...

Every morning for a couple of months now one of the first things I would see in my email list was this reminder…

southern-living-emailThe reminder to enter gave me permission each morning to dream that dream that started this little blog. Do I think I’ll win? No bloody likely…But so what? For a few minutes each morning I lived the dream…

Yesterday was the last day to enter…I did…Now, it’s back to real life and the same old emails coming in each morning.

Now don’t get me wrong, I mostly receive emails from folks I’ve requested to recieve emails from. And all in all they are interesting and informative, not too spammy…But they just don’t open themselves up to that daydream potential that the Southern Living email did.

They will be announcing the winner of the home in August…I know it won’t be me…But if I go missing sometime around then from the pages of my blog…Look for me in Asheville, North Carolina…That’s where I’ll be in this dream anyway.
