Watauga County Farmers’ Market
Boone’s Town Square Since 1974
Open Through October
Watauga County Farmers’ Market will be open every Saturday through the end of October. We will also have our holiday markets on the Saturday before and after Thanksgiving from 10 – 2. Come out and see us! You will find us at the Horn in the West. Take 105 Extension. Turn at the new First Citizens Bank onto Horn Avenue. Go 500 feet up the hill and we are on the left.
I overlooked the email last week that announced the opening of market season. But this weeks email caught my eye.
One of the things we always enjoy about our summer visits to the High Country and the NC Blue Ridge is a Saturday morning visit to the Market. Shopping for our meals at the Market really makes you feel like a member of the community.
This Saturday Zydeco Moon will have USDA certified organic tomato, pepper and herb transplants including a variety of heirloom cherry and grape tomatoes as well as Brandywine, German Johnson, Cherokee Purple, Cherokee Green, Chocolate Stripes, Green Zebra and several other varieties. Fresh vegetable choices will be mixed braising greens, mixed lettuce, and rhubarb.

So if you are in Boone NC this weekend, swing by and check out the Market. This will be the last year the Market will be held at the Horn of the West parking lot. Next year will find them at their new home in the Kmart parking lot where the Wednesday Markets are being held this year.
