<description>I was born in Waco, spent the first 20 years of my life farther south along the coast than did you- Corpus Christi-the next 15 or so in and around Houston, which is where I met, married and took a trip northward with my current husband. In 1977, we drove the Blue Ridge on our way back home to Houston. That was my first sense of my soul feeling at home. Ultimately we have ended up in Austin with children and grandchildren nearby. However, we have returned over the last few years to those mountains a few times and even though we are not well to do and certainly not young, the song of the mountains of northwest North Carolina/southwest Virginia calls us back. Our dream? No later than spring of 2011. I am licensed in both states now so know I can make an income. The place we now own goes on the market in January.

Your mountain dreams mirror mine and my husband&#039;s so closely, it is almost strange. Until those dreams become reality, I&#039;ll continue to spend every free moment on the web, searching, reading and dreaming....and now your blog, that of a kindred spirit, will join the places I frequent.

Thank you for the writing, the dreaming and the realization that we are not the only ones who dream of the Blue Ridge.
